Having appeared in front of all levels of criminal courts in Ontario, Stephen Hebscher is known for winning many difficult cases for his clients. Stephen’s determined approach in getting justice for his clients has lead to many of his cases having their charges withdrawn.
Being a previous assistant Crown Attorney in 2005-2007 has allowed for Stephen to develop relationships with crown attorneys in the Greater Toronto Area, which has been instrumental in his success for his past and current clients.

Having gotten many of his past clients successful results in this field, Stephen has been able to help many clients defend charges of sexual offences, including sexual interference, sexual assault, indecent acts, voyeurism, possession and distribution of child pornography, and aggravated sexual assault. He has also been able to achieve acquittals, peace bonds and withdrawals for clients that have been charge with domestic assault.
Stephen has also helped many families dealing with mental health issues in the criminal courts of Ontario so that they may get the support and care that they deserve from Ontario’s Healthcare System. He has also forged relationships with many healthcare professionals, ranging from psychiatrists to counselors, that specialize in addiction, social issues and mental health, so that his clients can get the justice and help that they so desperately need.
Stephen Hebscher completed the Criminal Law Intensive Program at Osgood Hall Law School and graduated there in 1983. In 1985, he was called to the bar of Ontario and has been practicing criminal law for over 35 years.
Located in North York, Stephen services all of the Greater Toronto Area and is a longstanding member of many associations and committees that allow for him to continue expanding on his experience and skills.
Stephen also successfully completed the Intoxilyzer 8000 Breath Alcohol Technician Training Course (March 1-2, 2013).
In 2015, Stephen was appointed as a legal member of the Ontario Review Board which reviews cases involving those with mental health disorders that have been found unfit to stand trial or criminally not responsible. This review board was established under the Criminal Code of Canada is made up of respectable members, ranging from judges, lawyer to healthcare professional and other members of the public. Stephen’s passion for law has led him to volunteer as a Mock Trial Coach, guest speak and judge at a large number on Mock Trial Competitions around the Greater Toronto Area.
