1What do I do if the police contacts me to speak about an alleged criminal offence?

There are times when a police officer or someone claiming to be the police may contact you. 2Am I allowed to have a lawyer present during the interrogation process?

While there aren’t any laws that allow for you to have a criminal lawyer present during an interrogation, you do have the right to speak with a lawyer before any questioning period.

Once you are in the interrogation room, the police are allowed to question you for as long as they feel it is necessary and they are allowed to question you on a variety of topics. 5What are your rates?

6Are you able to take my case if I have been denied legal aid?

If you have been denied Legal Aid, it is important to know that The Criminal Law Team is here to help. It also doesn’t necessarily mean that you cannot afford our fees. We understand that our clients may have certain financial circumstances that would favour payment plans and we are willing to make accommodations to help you.

7Do I need a lawyer if I have no defense?
